Bugaku is a 1300-year old form of Japanese Imperial court dance with principal origins in China and Southeast Asia as well as Mongolia and Korea. The repertoire is actually divided into two main groups: Chinese, Southeast Asian-influenced dance supported by Chinese/Southeast Asian-influenced music and usually featuring red-colored costumes, and Mongolian/Korean-influenced dance supported by music from that area and featuring blue or green costumes.
